Waukesha group names new executive director

Carol Winkel, former director of governmental and community relations for Marquette University, has been appointed as the new executive director of the Waukesha County Action Network.

The Waukesha County Action Network, WCAN, is a private sector, nonprofit civic organization of community and business leaders who evaluate and make recommendations on public policy issues. At WCAN, Winkel succeeds Carla Rutley, who resigned in September to lead the marketing firm she recently established.

Winkel has more than 16 years of experience in strategic community partnerships, program development, outreach, and project management, WCAN said.
