BIOGRAPHY

William Mielke
 
Mr. Mielke is a Registered Professional Engineer and Land Surveyor. He has been CEO of Ruekert/Mielke since 1980 and President since 1989. He is a Fellow of the American Consulting Engineers Council, and a Diplomat in Environmental Engineering, in addition to being a member of numerous professional organizations.

As one of the founders of the American Council of Engineering Companies of Wisconsin in 1986, he brought together the former Wisconsin Association of Consulting Engineers (WACE) and the Wisconsin Society of Professional Engineers PEEP. He served as Chairman and founder of the Qualifications-Based Selection (QBS) section of WACE, and was the founder of the National Qualifications Based Selection (QBS) facilitator grant program to assist communities in selecting the most qualified engineers for their projects.

The University of Wisconsin Construction Club has given a Lifetime Achievement Award to William J. Mielke, Chief Executive Officer and President of Ruekert/Mielke, of Waukesha, WI. This award recognizes outstanding accomplishments and contributions to the engineering profession and the construction industry.

He has served on several Governors Task Forces, most recently on the State and Local Government Task Force, and served as vice chairman of the Wisconsin Land Council. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Bank Mutual and the Milwaukee Metropolitan Association of Commerce.

As a Founder and Treasurer of the Waukesha Engineering Scholarship Fund, Inc., he has worked with local industry to provide scholarships for high school seniors pursuing careers in engineering.
